Night astronomy hike in Tejeda
3-hour night hike in Tejeda (central Gran Canaria): sunset at Ventana del Nublo, starry sky and a Starlight guide. Ages 12+.
Description
A 3-hour astronomy hike in the centre of Gran Canaria with Starlight monitors who are also mountain guides. Routes are easy — the point is to enjoy nature and the sky, not a hard trek.
You meet around Tejeda and walk a stretch of the Camino de Santiago of Gran Canaria to Ventana del Nublo for sunset and basic astronomy talk as it gets dark. Then you lie back under the sky (shooting stars if you are lucky), learn to spot constellations and planets, and take a hot drink. The finish is a stretch through the forest with lights off.
Technical data for this activity: ~4 km, +200 m / −200 m, difficulty easy. No telescopes — binoculars and other tools; two routes depending on weather. Transport not included (ask for options). After booking, the operator asks you to fill a form with the exact meeting point.
