Description
The violent volcanic eruptions that hit the south of Lanzarote during the 18th century gave way to what is now known as the Timanfaya National Park
On the back of a camel we will visit the spectacular and unique National Park of Timanfaya and volcanic of Lanzarote. You can enjoy one of the best camel rides in the Canary Islands!
The absence of vegetation, the roughness of all the structures and the diversity of colors, together with the silhouette of the volcanoes and the steep coast give the park an extraordinary beauty, while an apocalyptic vision of the environment that will not leave us indifferent
We will explore the villages of Macher, where we will discover the third highest mountain on Lanzarote: Guardilama. We will visit Uga, a tranquil community particularly known for its population of dromedaries. Our journey will conclude in Yaiza, honored as the cleanest village in Spain, which literally borders the lava sea of Timanfaya.
We will make a stop at Hilario Islet, from where we can catch a bird's-eye view of the vast sea of lava—spanning approximately 200 square kilometers—upon which dozens of craters rise. It is a scene worthy of being immortalized, and it will become a cherished part of our memories.
At El Diablo restaurant, we offer traditional Canarian cuisine prepared with a distinctive touch: geothermal heat. This unique experience, provided by the earth itself, allows us to savor dishes grilled over a barbecue rack placed over a hole in the floor.
Next, we will head toward the coast, passing through Las Salinas del Janubio, Los Hervideros, and the iconic Gulf of Lanzarote.
We will conclude our journey in the La Geria area—a protected rural natural landscape that has been preserved for many years—where we can appreciate the expertise of local farmers in harnessing the land to cultivate grapes for wine production, and where we will have the opportunity to taste the wine.
