La Fortaleza hike in Teide National Park
Guided 5-hour hike in Teide National Park: La Fortaleza trail (no. 1), circular route, moderate difficulty and views of Teide’s north face.
Description
You follow trail no. 1 La Fortaleza on the north side of the park, around 2,000 m: mostly flat moderate hiking through volcanic scenery inside a large caldera. You climb to La Fortaleza for views of Teide’s north face (3,715 m).
Circular route of 10.5 km, about 246 m of ascent/descent and ~4 hours of walking within the 5-hour activity including transfers. A Spanish-speaking mountain guide explains the natural environment.
Includes permits, water, poles if needed, Mercedes EQV electric transport with hotel pick-up (north/south) or Santa Cruz port, and insurance. Cable car not included (operator states there is no time for it).
Sun protection, comfortable clothes, closed shoes and a warm layer; not recommended for children under 6 per the operator.
