Whale watching by sailboat
3-hour sailboat trip from Costa Adeje to spot cetaceans, with a cove stop, optional snorkel and…
Whale watching in Tenerife sits in the channel between the island and La Gomera. That is why almost every trip here leaves from the south: Costa Adeje, Puerto Colón, Los Cristianos, Las Américas or Las Galletas. A few leave from Santa Cruz; that is a different drive.
The usual booking is a two- or three-hour catamaran or sailboat. There are also five-hour trips and private boats. Seeing pilot whales or dolphins depends on the sea: the page says where you leave from and how long you are out, it does not promise a sighting.
This page compares 17 bookable options. Lowest listed price: €25.57. Time on the activity runs 2 h–6 h. Meeting points include Playa de la Américas, Costa Adeje and Puerto Colón. The closed price and the meeting point are on each activity page.
None of these have a location on the map. Try other filters or look at the list.
If you are staying in Adeje, Los Cristianos or Las Galletas, pick a boat from that harbour. Puerto Colón and Costa Adeje overlap; Las Galletas sits further east and skips the Las Américas traffic.
A departure from Santa Cruz only makes sense if you are already in the city. Do not pair it with a beach day in the south.
There are shared catamarans, some with a small group, sailboats with a snorkel stop and private boats for several hours. A charter jumps in price: compare it with a seat on a three-hour boat before you treat them as the same trip.
If the page says snorkel, that is an extra stop, not the point of the sighting. An encounter is still not guaranteed.
